Community involvement and support have always been important to us at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Columbus. One of our favorite charities we are involved with is The Childhood League Center in downtown Columbus. The Center provides a broad range of early childhood educational programs and therapeutic services for children with and without special needs from birth to age 6.
Nearly half of The Childhood League Center’s annual operating funds come from the local community through donations and fundraisers. Recently, we participated in the Center’s Merry Go Round fundraising event by donating a 6 fixture outdoor lighting system and transformer to the “Auction of the Heart”. This is our 4th year of donating an outdoor lighting system for the auction where the package is routinely one of the highest bid items.
The first Merry Go Round affair 63 years ago raised $1,700 for the Center and has become a very popular event. This year’s 550 guests were dazzled with music from classic movies as they generously supported the Center, raising more than $390,000!
These funds help the Childhood League Centers young learners develop essential skills while also growing with confidence and discovering the joy of learning. Whether learning to pedal a tricycle, build a “zoo” with classroom materials or paint a picture with a friend, the Center’s children are active participants in the process of learning.
Giving to the children of our community is so satisfying and fulfilling and we could not feel better about being part of this amazing charity.
